MEMBER PETITION
Cobb EMC CEO Dwight Brown was indicted in January 2011 for racketeering, theft, and making false statements to members; several board members are still under investigation. All the board members are serving expired terms. Until elections are held, we are being denied a democratic voice and our rights as EMC members.
Please join us in calling for fair elections now by circulating the following petition to fellow EMC members. Sign the Pledge (at right) and we’ll send you more information and Petition print-outs.
The petition can now be filled out online! Simply click on the button below and follow the instructions.
Petition Summary and Background:
Pursuant to Articles I, II and IV of the Cobb EMC Bylaws, and whereas the Cobb EMC has not held an election or members meeting since 2007, this petition serves as an official request for a Special Meeting to be held in 2011.
Action Petitioned For:
Whereas Cobb EMC, a not-for-profit and member-owned utility cooperative where customers are member-owners has not held an election since 2007, an action in direct violation of the bylaws and undemocratic in principle, and whereas Cobb EMC directors have entered numerous multi-billion dollar financial contracts thereby placing Cobb EMC rate payers at risk, we, the undersigned, are concerned Cobb EMC Customers who request that a Special Meeting be held on Saturday, May 21st, 2011 at the Mountain View Community Center 3400 Sandy Plains Road in Marietta, Cobb County GA, 30066, at 10:30AM with the purpose of removal of the current officers and directors and election of new officers and directors.
